Day 29: Hatchet Campground

Distance: 80 avg: 11.9

Wyoming is very crinkly. I don’t think there’s a flat part anywhere in the place. This is very good, depending on the direction you are heading. It could use an iron tho.

I passed the continental divide twice, and twice wondered if this was of any interest. I was sad to leave the beauty of Yellowstone, but Grand Teton didn’t dissappoint.

I’m having a fantastic time, and it’s hard to express how fun it is to bike around. It’s very immersive. You can take time out to check out whatever you want and you can plop down wherever you like (almost).

On a gear note I mentioned that I rotated my tires. My rear (now my front) tire has a tiny eccentricity in it’s shape. It’s not entirely circular when inflated, perhaps because the bead is stretched a bit somewhere. Now I had a minor issue with a shimmy on high speeds. I could also get it at lower speeds by riding certain ways ( leaning to one side, attacking, etc. ). Turns out the shimmy was because of the eccentricity! I now have NO shimmy, period! This really makes my downhills even more fun!!
