Distance: 47 avg: 9.8
Today was difficult as I churned up to 9658′. The downhill was fun and entertaining, but followed by Wind River. Which unsurprisingly, is fucking windy. See attached pic.
After three hours of grueling uphill followed by two hours of headwind it started raining. Mom told me there’d be days like this. I hit the town of Dubois (rhymes with noise) and found a KOA campground.
KOA are first rate for camping, if you didn’t know. Good little spots, showers, pool, game room, laundry, wifi, store. It’s not really camping, but great when you’re touring.
I had a fantastic dinner at The Cowboy Cafe. Burger and fries, but for dessert: German Chocolate Pie! Yep, pie. So I’ll sleep well on a full stomach, and aim for Lander tomorrow.
Ps: I mentioned Wyoming ain’t flat yesterday. It’s still not flat, and I feel like I have to call Adventure Cycling out on their pathetic elevation profile. These are waaaay too general. The ‘downhill’ I’m on is not really downhill at all. Seriously, the elevation profile is THE most important planning tool when determining distance. Fix Wyoming!

I love seeing all of the WY stuff. I know all of these places. 🙂 I’m ALMOST jealous. Almost.
