Twin Bridges Bikers Spot

I just ran into the mayor of Twin Bridges, Tom, and his head of construction Bill. They are currently working on a great little project to pull cyclists into the community. They’re building a great little spot in their park for cyclists. Shower, electricity, sink, bathroom, picnic area, and more. I told them I’d blog about it so that other cyclists would know about it. They say hopefully it will be done by the first week of June.

Ha, one of the locals (a barkeep named Jim) told me about that, and since they had the sprinklers going all over the rest of the park, I slept under the not-so-nearly finished Bikers’ Rest. I wonder if I was the first?

The winds have been terrible. I struggled for a long time to leave Ennis, and after about 10 miles. A guy stopped, offered a ride, and I took it. Cheating, maybe, but I was fine with that. I later learned I was biking in 30 mph wind, with gusts of 50-60. I hear that valley is hell for wind, I hope it treats you better than it did me.

I ran into a couple guys who camped on twin bridges, but in the fairgrounds. The wind out of Ennis was fine for me but that gradual uphill slowly wore on me. I think you were fighting the same winds in ennis that I was fighting in wisdom->dillon. Glad that’s over! Hope you’re digging Wyoming! I’m fishing near Yellowstone today 🙂
