Distance: 58 to Toronto avg: don’t know
Distance: 67 to Walnut avg: 11.9
The heat is almost unbearable. I must have drank 2 gallons of water today. I went to sleep last night and stripped down to my boxers. I was still sweating so I went starkers. A couple cars passed by my campsite, so I put my boxers back on. 🙂
There is a small window where it is cool enough for me to sleep in this heat. It starts getting there about 10pm and gradually cools til 6am. I woke up late just because I was so tired from biking and fishing.
Yep! I went fishing. Alas it was lake fishing and I didn’t catch anything. I also didn’t have live bait and so I had to use some lures and some Power Bait.
Today has been a challenge. Woke up to heat. Bugs everywhere. Had my breakfast. Trudged through the hot day. Took a break at the library. Trudged through the hot night. Got chased (twice!) by dogs. It’s almost nine and I’m still sweating. It’s just non-stop sweating all day.
I was under the impression that Arizona was hot and the rest of the country had decent summers. A quick peruse of the weather tells me that’s bullshit. Most of the country is just as hot. What confuses me is that my maps tell me that it’s ten degrees hotter than the average here. Global warming? Perhaps! Regardless, I’m more determined to finish this and get to my air-conditioned sofa!

I just got back to KY for a nice long visit. I had forgotten how THICK the humidity in the rest of the country is. I sure did get used to AZ. I just can’t get dry here. I went for my morning walk and couldn’t get a third of my normal distance; it was just too thick to breathe and my clothes were completely wet from sweat. Believe me, I feel your pain. Good luck swimming from here on out.
Sooo You thought I was crazy for moving to Arizona. Ha! Now you know. The rest of “you” don’t move here or Az will get too crouded and California will off the edge of the earth’s fault and Az will become beach front property. Besides Az is about 70% State and National park land the rest is
desert and mountains. There are no jobs because there is no industry. There, have I discouraged you all. But the sunshine is worth it except in July and August. Oh yes, the humidity here is 11%. Yes there are other insects there than just mosquitoes. Stay safe, Love XXXOOOXXXMOM
it’s about time you get back to work , I missed your adventure. With high humidity comes rain better get fited with some pontoons. Keep on bloging. The wrench.
I’m guessing this is Marion Sr.? Work? Work is for fools and horses! 😛
I was thinking about calling you to see where you were at, lo and behold, you’re on my blog. 🙂 yeah, I woke up this morning and put my still-damp clothes on and put my matress out to dry (from sweat). Today is less humid so far. I’m currently relaxing in a starbucks of all places. Ahhhh…air conditioning!
So are you off to Kentucky or staying in dry Phoenix?
Can’t wait to be cuddled up next to you on that air-conditioned couch! 😉
