Day 70: Utica

Distance: 31 avg: 12.6
I’m currently relaxing in the fire station of Utica. Today was an extremely short day due to the 4th of July and weather. So I got a second rest day essentially. I may try for a 90 mile day tomorrow, and get to Jason’s place. Now that I’m extra rested! Sssshhhh, dont tell Jason!

I worked a bit on Mustaches, mainly reading Teddy Roosevelt’s autobiography. I don’t know if i’ve mentioned this but Roosevelt is a fantastic writer. He is a vibrant, candid person. Probably my favorite phrase from him that im going to, ahem, appropriate, is ‘flabbiness of moral fiber’. 🙂

  1. Well none can accuse you of a flabby moral fiber! Didn’t he also say “walk softly and Carry a big stick.” and soo many other wonderful words to live by. I am very glad you are seeking wisdom from mentors who have weathered the test of time.
Too many of our modern philosophers think they have the answers while they haven’t learned the questions. If questions are not asked learning cannot occor and change cannot happen. Dogma of religions keep people frozen in a concept that cannot be challanged. Ergo Marx’s comment that “religion is the opiate of the masses|”.

  2. stay safe. love XXXOOOXXX MOM
