Day 71: Hodgenville

Distance: 101 avg: 12

I had a recordbreaking day, passing the 100-mile mark for the first time! I’m currently relaxing in my friend Jason’s parents’ house the day after. The day wasn’t too tough, although there was some intense weather in the morning. I got in to Jason’s place, and ate most of his left over curry!

Back when he was 14 Jason built this house with his family. He showed me the place they lived before and a line of huge trees that he planted. They were originally supposed to be Christmas trees to pay for his college, but they are a little bit big now.

We relaxed on the porch and had a bit of bourbon in rocking chairs. We chatted and told stories and it was a fine Kentucky evening!

The place is happening, as I have arrived in the midst of a family reunion with his brother and sister here, too. Jason’s wife Amy and his little sprog Riley is a shy little 1-year old.

I’m taking a rest day here, before I move on. And on that note I might just fall asleep now… 🙂
