Day 74: Berea

Distance: 75 avg: 11.2

I’m not feeling so hot but I’m going to try to bust this out. I had a really nice time riding for the first 55 miles, but for some reason I started getting really dizzy and the last 20 were a bit tough. I don’t know if it was heat or what.

Today was some really gorgeous countryside. Berea is a very cool city. Culture, food, history. I’m having a hard time comprehending how tomorrow is supposed to be hillbilly central.

I’m currently in a very nice hotel, the Boone Tavern Hotel in the center of Berea. I had dinner in the dining room which was a really cool experience. The decor was very… Eastern? Southern? Tall ceilings, crystal chandeliers, elegant curtains and white tablecloth. I tried some high-falutin’ fried green tomatoes, and some Kentucky style porkchops. They had a sorghum mustard(as opposed to honey mustard) dressing for my salad, too!

Berea has some nice shops and the college is supposed to be a hub of learning here. I wish I had some time to take a rest day here.

Don’t know what happened earlier today, but I hope it doesn’t happen again. I’m exhausted, time for bed.
