My planned route is the following, which is the Transamerican Cycling Route
The basic plan is to fly in to Portland, drive to Astoria, and dip my wheels into the Pacific Ocean. After that I’ll bike the approximately 4200 miles over to Yorktown, VA and plop my wheels over in the Atlantic Ocean.
The maps I’m using, bought from Adventure Cycling are broken down into the following chunks:

- Coburg, OR, to Baker City, OR (340 mi.)
- Baker City, OR, to Missoula, MT (419 mi.)
- Missoula, MT, to West Yellowstone, MT (332 mi.)
- West Yellowstone, MT, to Rawlins, WY (359.5 mi.)
- Rawlins, WY, to Pueblo, CO (390.5 mi.)
- Pueblo, CO, to Alexander, KS (292.5 mi.)
- Alexander, KS, to Girard, KS (333.5 mi.)
